How to Create and Submit Archival Video Imagery

Daily we are called upon to provide high quality video for commercial and military documentaries and other video projects. Though lower resolution video can satisfy timely news requirements, high resolution archival quality video is needed for these other requirements, and the need for a second transmission of archival quality video that is explained on this page.

At this time, DVI and the Service Component Accessioning Points request that videographers submitting electronic video files follow those transmissions with either the original videotape or the camera original uncompressed digital video files. We can accept the following formats:

  • Beta SP
  • Beta SX
  • IMX
  • Betacam
  • DVC Pro
  • DVCam
  • Mini DV
  • DVD (Single & Dual-Layer)
  • Blu-Ray
  • Hard Drive
