Bandwidth Options
There are two modes available for viewing the DefenseImagery.mil website. Normal, or high bandwidth, mode renders the full site experience, including all graphics and visual accents. Lightweight, or low bandwidth, mode renders minimal graphics, resulting in faster page load times for users with slow Internet connections. Both versions include all imagery features.
When clicked, the bandwidth link in the utility navigation toggles between the normal (high bandwidth) and lightweight (low bandwidth) versions of the site. When in high bandwidth mode, click Low Bandwidth to switch to the lightweight and less graphics-intensive version of the site. When in low bandwidth mode, click High Bandwidth to return to the normal version of the site. Your selection is maintained when navigating to other pages on the site, but will revert to normal (high bandwidth) when your browser is closed.

Dynamic Update Alerts
There DefenseImagery.mil website uses Asynchronous Javascript and XML (AJAX) and other dynamic technologies to enhance the user experience. As a result, additional content on the page may be loaded after the page itself has finished loading. This may cause a problem for some screen reader users who may not realize that the page has changed. An option is available for providing a notification when a page has changed after it was initially loaded.

When clicked, the dynamic update alerts link in the footer navigation toggles between alerts enabled and alerts disabled. When alerts are disabled, click Enable Dynamic Update Alerts to turn alerts on. An example of the alert displayed when the page has changed is depicted above. When alerts are enabled, click Disable Dynamic Update Alerts to turn alerts off. Your selection is maintained when navigating to other pages on the site, but will revert to alerts disabled when your browser is closed.
